- Digital X-rays require much less radiation. Digital radiography systems reduce radiation exposure to patients by up to 80 percent compared to film-based systems.
- Digital X-rays give immediate results. You do not have to wait for film, which takes time. Also, the dentist knows right away if the x-ray has captured what he needs to see or if he needs to take more images.
- With digital X-rays, the dentist can manipulate the X-ray to find more information from the X-ray that you have taken. The dentist can use software to enhance the image in order to make a more precise diagnosis.
